ON TUESDAY, JULY 6, 2010, AT 9:30am, THE CITY COUNCIL WILL MEET AT CITY HALL (100 Queen Street, 2nd floor), TO VOTE ON APPROVING THE LAWRENCE ALLEN REVITALIZATION PLAN (LARP). IF THIS PASSES, A MINI-CITY OF OVER 25,000 WILL BE BUILT RIGHT IN OUR AREA. IT WILL MEAN HORRENDOUS TRAFFIC CONGESTION, ESPECIALLY AFFECTING LAWRENCE, BATHURST, RANEE, DUFFERIN, MARLEE, NEPTUNE, ENGLEMOUNT AND OTHER AREA STREETS. THE QUIET STREETS OF REGINA, SULTANA, BAYCREST, RONDALE, RIDGEVALE AND MORE WILL BECOME HEAVILY TRAVELLED WITH CARS. YOUR HOUSE VALUE COULD BE GREATLY REDUCED. SEWAGE, WATER, AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS MAY ENSUE IN ALL OF NORTH YORK.
IF YOU LIVE OR TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE AREA BOUNDED BY EGLINTON, AVENUE ROAD, WILSON, AND DUFFERIN, THIS WILL AFFECT YOU.
WE MUST SHOW THE POLITICIANS THAT WE ARE VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS. THERE IS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS. WE NEED HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE THERE. IF YOU DON’T SHOW UP, THIS PLAN WILL EASILY PASS.
WE ARE HIRING BUSES TO TRAVEL DOWN TO CITY HALL. BUSES WILL BE LEAVING 8:30AM FROM THIS AREA. IF YOU CAN’T COME YOURSELF, PLEASE SEND YOUR ADULT CHILDREN.
FOR MORE INFO, OR TO RESERVE A SPOT ON THE BUS, PLEASE CALL CLAIRE CISS (416)784-1426 OR JACK GOLDHAR (647)294-4323, or email cciss@sympatico.ca
PLEASE CARE. THIS IS FOR YOU AND THE FUTURE OF OUR COMMUNITY. THANK YOU.
